ORANG MELAYU BERJIWA KECIL
- AZIZ DERAMAN, Ketua Pengarah DBP

Orang Melayu bukan berjiwa besar tetapi semakin kecil dan sedang melalui lorong kosong, bagaimana hendak mengatakan berjiwa besar kerana ketika orang lain baca 4 buku seminggu , kita hanya dua naskhah setahun , termasuk novel atau buku picisan dan majalah hiburan.

Tidak hairan kenapa majalah MASSA kena tutup, jurnal pemikir pula menjadi tanda Tanya. Anak kita tidak dididik mencari sumber ilmu sedangkan kita mahu membina tamadun yang mana ia mestilah berteras ilmu.

Happy Birthday Abg and Babah Amiir..:) moga sentiasa thabat dan istiqamah dlm mencari keredhaan Dia..:)

Tips to avoid constipation

A few tips to be shared with all mommies, These are what I compiled from mothers in Ummikusayang.. I just place it here in case our Amiir experiences it. Kalau tak paste sinih..nanti catit mana mana tah pastu hilang....:)

Medicines
Duphalac (mild laxative), Sorbitol and Antibio
Food to AVOID (or reduce):

Bananas (yes, surprisingly), rice, soy, applesauce and food made from wheat flour - these make the stool firmer

Food to TAKE (or try):
Prune juice (but must dilute with water in ratio eg 1:1 or 1:2)
Apple juice
Fruits and vegetables
Add bran (or is it oat bran) to the cereal
Mix some flax seed oil to the baby's food (flax seed oil is better than mineral oil)
Drink more water

Other things to do:
Encourage the baby to be active and move around
Exercise the baby's legs by doing the pedalling exercise (ie moving the baby's legs like you're cycling)
Massage or press the baby's stomach just below her navel

Or Massage your baby's tummy.Start at the belly button and then massage outwards in circles in a clockwise direction. Some oil or cream on your fingers can also help.

Move your baby's legs in a cycling motion.Place your baby so he or she is lying on their back. Hold their legs and turn them gently in a quick cycling motion. This will make the stomach muscles move and, in turn, put gentle pressure on the intestines to make them move.

Give your baby a warm bath to make her relax. Then,in the bath, you massage her stomach. When you wash your baby's bottom, apply some cream or petroleum jelly (Vaseline) around the outside of the anus.

Give cooled, boiled water. You can give your baby extra fluids with bottles of cooled, boiled water.

Once your baby start to eat more porridge and fruit or vegetable purées into their diet. These are rich in fibre and will help prevent constipation. Prune purée is particularly good for this purpose.

Things that causes constipation:
I'm not sure about this, but other than the normal reasons like not drinking enough etc i think taking cow's milk or dairy products eg cheese may cause constipation to certain babies. So during the treatment period do limit or avoid these and see if there's any improvement. After it's over, you can still offer them these things but in moderate amount (ie see how much they can handle without repeating the problem)

The labor... :)

Amiir got his jab for hepatitis B today.. strong baby boy.. nangis kejap aje.. then cooled down bila umi peluk..

dah seminggu rupanya anak babah dan umi tu.. his weight pun dah 4.9 kg.. of which has made the doctor shocked.. "orang lain naik 1kg aje.. amiir naik nearly 2 kg?" ehehe.. all the while i thought his weight was progressing slow..:P

today Amiir is already a month and two days old.. teringat plak masa bersalin Amiir.. hubby and I was on the way to the office.. sakit. tapi ingatkan gastric.. or back pain.. mana lah nak tau that one sign of contraction is back pain.. sampai depan ofis aje.. abg decided to take leave and rest at home.. I was thinking of resting at home then but mak advised to gih clinic.. so pergi clinic and doc checked .. dah buka 4 cm.. there and then tears trickled from my eyes.. bukan sebab sakit doc check..tapi terkejut..yikes aku dah nak beranak ??...hihih..

Alhamdulillah.. Allah mudahkan kelahiran Amiir.. sakit of which i can consider tak lama.. eventhough masa ka tbilik bersalin tu duk tengok jam aje rasa lama sangaaaat nak boleh buka 10 cm.. Tuhan je yg tau sakitnya.. sampai 9 cm pun ade hati suggest suh ceaser aje..:P . Dalam dalam sakit tu banyak pulak pelawat yg datang.. mak came to accompany dari sekolah.. abah singgah before heading to his meeting.. Santi yg kerja kat Zahrah pun datang menziarah.. I was speechless.

1.17 p.m.. azan zohor.. and Amiir was safely delivered...normal .selepas berapa kali push.. betul kata orang.. habis bersalin hilang rasa semua sakit especially bila dengar suara baby and baby diletak atas perut.. .sian abg.. dialah supporter.dialah tukang kipas..tapi mujur he was strong enough to be with me during the labor.. :) Abg, If u're reading this.. I appreciate it..;) walaupun tak sempat nak buat as we planned.. nak tangkap gambar amiir yg baru keluar dari perut.. hehe.. unplanned delivery..:P

Ala kulli ahwal.. semoga Amiir jadi anak soleh.. dan pejuang Islam..:) can't wait to see Amiir's first responsive smile bila di agah.. sekarang nih.. he can just look and stare..

Alhamdulillah.. Thank You Allah..

TV-Series.....Umi Amiir me"lagho"kan diri lagi ..

I can't recall when was the last time I was so attached to tv-series... i remembered zaman zaman sekolah rendah.. those japanese series.. Moero Attack, sanggup ponteng mengaji tu nak tengok Moero Attack .. kagum gile dengan summersault hantu derang.. hehe.. then abt one japanese stewardess..lupa tajuknye ape... O-shin, Rin Hane Koma..
well.. during my secondary school.. i was then obsessed to kantonese tv series. ala yg pukul 6 ptg tu.. During those times, i was a huge fan of Leon Lai Meng.. lepas tgk cerita dia as a hero in one of the series... lupa tajuknya...

lepas masuk sekolah asrama.. there was not much time for me to follow any tv series.. unless masa cuti panjang..by then i prefer movies..english movies.. especially true stories.. oh ya.. ade one english story yg i can't forget.. Anne OfGreen Gable.. sampai cari story books dia nak baca...best woo..if i have achance to follow it again pun . i think I'll hook up with it.

Well..tak sangka plak after getting married akan teraddict dengan cerita lagi..well.. thanks to Amiir sbb came just in time.. so that umi dia got the chance to pantang rumah tok and tokwan dia...and tgk astro...."macam-macam ada...."..:P

It happened to be Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay is aired on during these confinement days of mine.. hoyeh hoyeh....a phillipine sequel..starring Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, lorna Tolentino.. best ooo...Today will be the last episode for Ifah to watch, since she's heading back to UIA this sunday.. so i offered her a helping hand by searching for the ending of the story in the internet.. (more to which.. my inquiry feelings pushes me to look for it) .. nasib baik the summary of the story was in philipine language.. or else.. nanti dah tak feel bila tengok ..

well anyway..here's the star of the story..

I should also consider my Amiir as one of the hero as he is being so sporting dengan tak meragam masa umi die tgk citer..:P

Amiir lam hati: lagho nye umi Amiir nih...

gulp

Exhausted...true enough!..:)

How your baby's growing: Almost a month old already! How did that happen? By the end of this week, your baby may be able to lift his head briefly when he's lying on his tummy. He may also be able to turn his head from side to side. His leg and arm movements are less jerky and, as he gains more control of his muscles, he'll soon be the picture of grace compared to those first few weeks.

Although you may not yet be able to tell for sure, your baby is beginning to develop some eating and sleeping patterns. Still, expect a certain amount of change and unpredictability for another month or so.

Your baby likes bold lines and shapes. Hang a mobile with high-contrast patterns or picture books with strong line drawings. An Etch-a-Sketch, which you draw on, will also fascinate your baby.

How your life is changing: Why mince words? There's only one to describe how you're feeling: exhausted. If it's any consolation, sleep deprivation has been the shared bane of every new parent. So what to do? Remind yourselves that this will eventually pass, and then read up on the mechanics of your baby's sleep and understanding your baby's sleep patterns. Knowing how and why babies sleep will help you figure out ways to get your baby settled into a routine that you can all live with.

You may find this hard to believe in your bleary-eyed state, but as your baby grows, his sleep patterns will start to take on a more regular rhythm. Just keep in mind that some babies need more sleep, and some less. Good luck.

=================================

Exhausted ah jugak.. since Amiir was born in daytime.. he will wake up during night time.. just when umi and babah die wants to sleep.. and he can infact stay awake for 2 to three hours...Can't wait nak tunggu Amiir besar and boleh respond bila orang agah...his routine right now is just minum, tidur, buang air...

Nuun's POV on confinement

Gee.. I didn’t realize that confinement period is that tough..:P . Everything I did seems not right. I tried berbekung… but then kene tegur sebab tak buh ape ape masa berbekung.. Masa Aqiqah… duduk bersimpuh..(read: bersimpuh..bukan bersila) tu pun ade orang tegur sebab duduk bersimpuh tak tindih peha!.. jalan sopan sopan dah rasanya .. pun tak cukup sopan lagik… kene tegur langkah besar sangat…. Nak makan ulam.. bukan kalau sakit elok makan sayur ker?… pun kene tegur sebab sejuk.. tak makan jamu pun kene pandang serong... rasa nak announce je.. I'm taking homeopathy kay.. which kalau nak makan takyah tutup hidung and telan.. just chew chew je..

I don’t know.. Is it because that I am a modern mom… sebab tak ikut pantang larang.. ikutkan sebenarnya banyak benda yg konfius pasal pantang nih..like
1. apsal bangsa lain takde pun pantang larang ok je..
2. macamana orang tau yg mana makanan sejuk and panas..(cth: pucuk ubi orang sini kata leh makan.. orang timur kata angin)
3. kalau after maternity sakit kepala or sakit sakit lain..mcmana org tau sakit tu disebabkan langgar pantang?

Holla.. it’s not that I don’t believe all these.. Org-org tua pun buat their conclusion pun are based on their experience..but I don’t think it need to be too strict.. or maybe scientific explanations might help a lot in explaining these..mujur lah mak bukan jenis yg ikut pantang larang jugak..hehe

Ahah..nih kalau org2 lama baca blog nih sure cik nuun kene marah..durhaka pada pantang larang.. hehe..." langgar pantang sekarang tak rasa lah.. tua nanti baru rasa…".. hany.. please dont show this blog to ur mom..:P

Anyway, Im so grateful that I have an understanding hubby , 9 siblings, 3 siblings in-laws and two teenage neighbours yg sporting once in a while menyeludup beberapa makanan yg di”haram”kan utk ibu bersalin hehe.. I'm not breaking the pantang larang.. just bending it..:P...

All in all....I agree with mak….boleh je makan.. as long as not in huge amount.. kalau makan banyak2 orang sihat pun boleh sakit..(i love my mommy!!!)

Wow.... abah just came in with a plate of durian… for ME?????? semalam baru mother in law kata takleh makan.. orang sini plak kata boleh.. bagi panaskan badan.. hmmhmm…. I need xplanation here…maybe adik doktor dari Indon who' reading can clear the haze?
